Give them drugs

In the early 20th century parents would give kids opium syrup to quieten them down. It's hard to see how 90% of so-called ADHD prescriptions are any less crude. Most of these kids need more stimulation than they get in their home and school environments. Good to see this charlatan practice increasingly questioned.

and the day after you mention this, the London Guardian has a feature saying precisely that. are you reading their mail?

there is a great deal of Poor Parenting occurring. Melb Mag would be empty if I was wrong.

We lead the news here at the armagnac diaries!

Yeah, i sometimes think of it as bad parenting syndrome. However there are cases, the minority, but still a few, that actually justify some intervention. THere is a syndrome of extreme attention deficit, it's just so often abused to apply to kids who aren't getting enough stimulation.

SO often in the kiddy court I could see that the kid was smarter than the parent.
