Piers Akerman: Not racist, no, not, really I'm not, no, not in the slightest, BUT....
Penny's Wong. Get it? No, it's a pun, see, Wong sounds like Wrong? Bah, lefties, no sense of humour and PC to the nth. They don't make Labor types like they used to.
How on earth is that racist? The problem in using the term “racist” as a cheap insult to further one’s own political agenda is that ultimately removes the stigma that attaches to the word.
If you want it to mean something bad, you need to use the word to describe really bad things, for example, enslaving members of a different race. Using it a debating tool is counter-productive.
In fairness it's more the year 9 'hyuk hyuk' quality of the attempted pun that the racialistikness of it that bolsters my view of Akerman as a socially underdeveloped slimeball.
