First was Minh; then the cattery, with, presumably, assorted strange cats; with this recent episode, you don't know what happened while you couldn't see him, so is it possible that there was another cat under the house (you say Mao stayed there much longer than usual)? That would mean all three psycho episodes have been about confrontations with other, strange cats.<BR/><BR/>Vets talk about something called (I think) 'referred aggression', which means that when a cat is feeling aggro but unable to get to the object, it will turn and beat up anything it can get at. I have seen this happen with my own two cats several times. It might explain the state of your left hand.<BR/><BR/>This doesn't actually help with the immediate dilemma, I know. But that's what it sounds like to me.
